Greek Association of Computational Mechanics (GRACM)

The Greek Association of Computational Mechanics (GRACM) was founded in Athens, in 1991. It is an affiliate of the International Association of Computational Mechanics (IACM) and the European Community of Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS).
The main objective of the Association is to promote the science of Computational Mechanics, which, according to its international definition, covers the areas directly related to the use of Computers and Numerical Tools and Methodologies to promote any relevant modern science.

AIMETA Group of Biomechanics (GBMA)

The AIMETA Group of Biomechanics (GBMA) unites researchers dedicated to studying the crucial role that theoretical and applied mechanics play in biology and medicine. The activities of the members focus on understanding the behavior of biological structures in both health and disease, developing innovative technologies to enhance diagnostic assessments, and optimizing medical devices to improve clinical treatments and rehabilitation processes. The interests of the group encompass advancements in experimental methods, modeling approaches, and computational techniques. The activities promoted by GBMA aim to facilitate the integration of these areas, easing the development of modern tools capable of addressing the evolving challenges in the field of Biomechanics.

Italian Group of Computational Mechanics (GIMC)

The Italian Group of Computational Mechanics (GIMC) is part of the Italian Association of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (AIMETA) and brings together researchers dedicated to the study of innovative numerical methods and efficient computational techniques that enable new mechanical problems to be tackled with a higher level of reliability.
The interests of the group encompass a wide range of topics, including fluid, solid and structural mechanics, smart and innovative materials, multiphysics problems.
The activities promoted by the GIMC aim to facilitate the interdisciplinary exchange and dissemination of the most recent developments in the fields of computational mechanics fostering advances in the development and application of numerical methods and computational techniques for the solution of problems of engineering and applied sciences.

AIMETA Mechanics of Materials Group (GMA)

The goal of the AIMETA Mechanics of Materials Group (GMA), branch of the Italian Association of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (AIMETA), is to provide a forum for researchers working in the field of mechanics materials. The group has organized since 2007 initiatives to favour exchange of experiences, discussion, and collaboration of researchers working in different cultural areas.

National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)

The National Technical University of Athens is structured according to the continental European system for training engineers, with an emphasis on solid background. The duration of courses leading, after the acquisition of 300 credit units to a Diploma, of Master’s level, is five years. The valuable work of NTUA and its international reputation are due to its well-organised educational andresearch system, the quality of its staff and students, and the adequacy of its technical infrastructure.
